This listing is for a set of 3 dye packets of Cushing Acid dyes for wool and other animal fibers. These are all the dyes that are needed to get all of the colors in my Dusty Dye Book (as seen in the second photo, available in another listing). Another dye book in Karen Kahle's Little Book Series, the Dusty Little Dye Book colors all about dyeing light neutrals. The magic of the book is that it uses only three W. Cushing acid dye colors in varying amounts to get 12 subtly different colors in 26 tints for wool and other animal fibers.

For a long while I struggled to create formulas for muted antique light values, always coming up with color that were too bright or glowing. Then I hit upon using 3 subtle dye colors, intermixing them to get a whole range of useful light colors that looked lovely dyed over light solid, textured, and patterned wool fabrics and yarns. These are the colors that I use all the time, and they are a part of every rug that I hook.
